While currently a designer, Whitney comes from an academic English background. She received her Bachelors of the Arts from Georgia State University in Atlanta, Georgia and completed one year of graduate school for Rhetoric and Composition before realizing she didn't want to get her PhD in Rhetoric.
Not being an English academic any longer, Whitney wasn't sure what to do with herself. She took a job as a receptionist at an Atlanta advertising agency, Definition 6. At Definition 6, many lovely coworkers convinced Whitney to go back to school for a more creative career. After a year, Whitney left Definition 6 for Portfolio Center and hasn't looked back.
Whitney currently lives in Denver, Colorado with her husband, a zoo of pets and many, many set of knitting needles.
